Auschwitz II, otherwise known as Auschwitz- Birkenau. We were stunned to realize that the train tracks actually stopped at three crematoriums. It was miserably cold and snowy, which was a reminder of the conditions that the Jews and 'political prisoners' who were taken here had to endure if they survived the gas chambers. I'm still processing everything we saw there. More than anything, I'm angry that the US didn't get involved before we did - we could have prevented so many deaths. Over 1.5 million died at Auschwitz alone. Posted by Hello
